A Place to Ponder about Mary Poppins
Just behind the old bank building where author PL Travers, of Mary Poppins fame, was born is a quaint little café that celebrates Mary Poppins. It's called A Spoon Full of Sugar Café.
It is open six days a week (closed Tuesdays), open from 7 am to 5.30 pm week days and Saturdays and Sundays from 7 am to 1 pm.
The Café does great breakfasts and lunches, and is open for coffee and drinks. There's no need to book, just walk in.
They do Takeaway and Catering too. (I must say the food looked very tempting, but I had already eaten and there was no room for more!)
I love the fancy cappuccino – with the umbrella, and if you look up into the ceiling from the outdoor seating area, you will see a collection of umbrellas. Perhaps Mary Poppins used one of them.
