Even if you don't follow AFL football, there's a chance you may have heard of the tragic on-field accident that crippled Geelong player Casey Tutungi in late June 2013. Casey's heartbreaking story made national headlines, after he collided with another player while going for the ball in a local game. He suffered severe spinal injuries which resulted in quadriplegia, and is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation to regain the use of his limbs.

Confined to a motorised wheelchair for the time being, the former Geelong Football Club VFL player has remained positive despite the numerous challenges that have been thrown his way, and has become an inspiring role model for people with physical disabilities.

As a way of showing their support for Casey, a group of dedicated people have decided to throw a concert to help raise funds and awareness of Casey's cause. With Falls Festival founder Simon Daly at the helm, a strong group of music industry heavy-weights will be staging , to be held at Simonds Stadium in Geelong on Sunday 29 September.

This all-ages event will be fittingly held at the home of the Geelong Cats , and will be headlined by The You Am I Allstars. They will be joined by a host of popular Australian artists, including Paul Dempsey (from Something For Kate ), Regurgitator , The Bamboos , Dan Sultan , Yacht Club DJs , and indie favourite Lisa Mitchell . Former Geelong performers Missy Higgins and Adalita (from Magic Dirt ) will also be performing on the day, which will begin at 12 noon and wrap up around 10.45pm.

Tickets cost $50 (plus booking fee), and can be purchased online at www.oztix.com.au or www.caseytutungi.com . Physical ticket purchases can be made at any Ghanda store. All profits from the event will go towards the Casey Tutungi Appeal. Children 12 and under get free entry into the event, and it is recommended that everybody over the age of eighteen bring some form of ID, as this will be a licensed concert and no alcohol purchases will be allowed without a valid and legitimate ID.

This one-off concert promises to be a memorable experience for music lovers, as well as a fantastic opportunity to show support for a young man who has been dealt a hard blow.
