A Sentimental Journey – Celebrating Doris Day
With the craziness of the Easter long weekend / back to school / but wait, Anzac Day, upon us, you could be forgiven for wanting to hide under the covers and hope everything goes to plan without you.
However, this year I'm embracing the momentum. I'm heading full steam into the craziness of chocolate smeared children, family gatherings, school drop-offs and an early morning Anzac march and out the other side to the following weekend.
If I can make it through that unscathed… then my reward is a ticket. A ticket to see a performer who promises high energy to compliment the freight train that will be my week. A performer who, my friends tell me, has the most stunningly smooth vocals & swinging five-piece band to transport me into a world of vintage charm. A performer who is celebrating an event otherwise unnoticed this April – Doris Day's 97th birthday.
I will be tapping my toes (& possibly singing under my breath) to all Doris's best hits like Que Sera Sera and Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps. And perhaps I'll even toast D-Day with a sneaky Saturday afternoon drink as I slowly forget the screams of "It's not fair! She got more eggs than me!" and "
Where are your shoes? We're going to be late!".
It will be worth it. So, if you're embracing the crazy like me and need a reward at the end, check out the Logan Entertainment Centres website and book a ticket to see Melly Melody in '
A Sentimental Journey… Celebrating Doris Day' on Saturday 27th April at 2pm. You'll be home in time for tea.
