A Nice Day To Fly
Since 2007, Garry runs the Bombing of Darwin WW II Tour - Bringing Them Back to Life. With his tour, he received NT History Grants for connecting history to his personal history. Garry's dad - Henry Gallagher and his two uncles were in Darwin during the bombing era.
In his new book "A Nice Day for Flying - Bombing of Darwin", Garry blended the history of the Darwin bombing together with personal stories. The personal stories reveal what really happened during Darwin bombing and also the key figures involved in the actual moment of Darwin bombing in WWII. Garry reviewed, discerned, and constructed his personal histories, collecting information from both sides of the conflict, making this book an important historical memoir for Australian, American and Japanese readers alike.
