Delicious food and wine to be enjoyed by all
This April rings in the 10th annual flavoursome Italian festival in the Broke Fordwich region of the Hunter Valley. The area is well known for its premium wines, out of this world olive oils and tranquil, rural experience.
With the rustic ambiance, the tranquil wine region will share its gourmet delights and world class wines with all, bringing a bit of Italy to your doorstep without the hefty price tag. The region is filled with picturesque landscapes and accommodation tucked into the hillsides and fields, wineries are in abundance and there is no shortage of places to fill empty stomachs. With Brokenback Mountain and Yellow Rock nearby you can take a moment to indulge in the tourist spots too.
The Little Bit of Italy festival is on the second week of April, 11th and 12th. To be apart, you start your journey at the information centre in the heart of town, where you purchase your souvenir glass for taste testing through the regions 12 producers and collect your passport which can be stamped at each stop giving you the opportunity to win $2000 worth of wine, food and accommodation. Concerned about driving? Don't be! There will be a shuttle bus running all weekend for only $5 per day. The weekend will be filled with cooking demonstrations, market stalls, live entertainment and puppet shows to cater for all the family. For more information, visit their website www.italyinbroke.com.au for all the details on the festival and the area.
