A Good Day to Be a Dog is a South Korean television series based on the Naver webtoon of the same name by Lee Hey. Directed by Kim Dae-woong, this TV series became a hit, not only because of big names such as Park Gyu-young, Cha Eun-woo, and Lee Hyun-woo in the drama, but also because of its unique storyline.

A Good Day to Be a Dog is about Han Hae-na (played by Park Gyu-young), a single woman who works as an English teacher at a high school. Her ordinary life is shadowed by her family’s secret. Due to her ancestor's fault to the Mountain God, Han Hae-na's family has been cursed for generations. The curse causes her family, when they kiss someone, to turn into a dog at midnight for 6 hours. Afterwards, they revert to their normal appearance. This transformation repeats itself every night until that person, in their dog appearance, kisses the same person within 100 days, or that person won't be able to turn into a human again.

One day, Hae-na and a group of teachers from her high school have a drink together after work. Han Hae-na, who is drunk, accidentally kisses Jin Seo-won (played by Cha Eun-woo), a maths teacher at the same high school. Originally, Han Hae-na was planning to kiss Lee Bo-gyeom (played by Lee Hyun-woo). a history teacher that she has secretly fallen in love with. But Seo-won was wearing Bo-gyeom’s coat that night and drunk and Hae-na mistook these men. Knowing that she needed to have another kiss from Seo-won to break the curse, Hae-na tried everything possible to have a chance to have another kiss from her colleague who seemed very cold to her. Things don’t seem to work as Seo-won has a fear of dogs due to a childhood trauma. There are lots of funny scenes because Hae-na couldn't approach Seo-won when she was in a dog form.

If you’re confused about why Hae-na and her family have this curse, everything will be explained more in episode 10. One thing outstanding from this drama is its beautiful cinematography as well as the chemistry between Park Gyu-young and Cha Eun-woo. The heartwarming and comedic tone of this drama series also will make you binge-watch the 14 episodes of A Good Day to Be a Dog. A Good Day to Be a Dog can be watched through streaming services.
