The Adelaide Plains play host to around 2,000,000 migratory shorebirds each year that travel from the Arctic. The Adelaide Plains serve as their breeding ground.

Their epic world trip along the East-Asian-Australasian Flyway, culminates in a six-month break of breeding, resting and roosting before they head back to the Arctic.

The Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary National Park - Winaityinaityi Pangkara provides vital protection for these shorebirds and their pristine habitat. You will be able to see up to 52 species of birds.

For the traditional owners, the Kaurna people, Winaityinaityi Pangkara means 'country for all birds and the country that surrounds these birds'.

A great place to take your loved ones and anyone inspired by David Attenborough to encourage the next generation of biological scientists and bird watchers.
