Australian actor Geoffrey Rush 's latest offering to the world of Broadway arrives in Melbourne on the 19th of October. 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' is the story of Pseudolus (Geoffrey Rush), a scheming slave and his henpecked master, Senex (Shane Bourne). Magda Subanski plays Domina, Senex's domineering wife.



Also included in the plot of this brazen comedy is a virgin courtesan, and the dimwit who falls in love with her. As Pseudolus uses circumstances to his advantage, and attempts to secure his freedom from slavery he becomes a fascinating character. One that award winning Rush does more than justice to.

Full of slapstick silliness, bawdy banter and delightfully retro musical numbers, 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' is not to missed. Playing for only 12 weeks (19th of October to 25th of November), tickets are strictly limited, and well worth purchasing.

Her Majesty's Theatre is renowned for its intimacy and elegance. Having opened in 1886, the theatre has overcome insolvency, fire and the great depression. You won't need a drink to be splitting your sides at Broadway's Funniest Musical Comedy, but there's no harm in one or two.



Preview tickets are available for the 8pm show on the 19th of Oct, or the 2pm show on the 20th. These show a significant saving, with premium seating available for $79.90. In all other shows these tickets are going for $139.90. The preview tickets won't last long, so get in quick! If you're budget won't stretch far enough for a premium ticket, no matter how discounted, you can get restricted view tickets for $59.90 and up.
