A Dog's Purpose – Film Review

A Dog's Purpose is an effective tear-jerking movie which I hope starts a conversation about how we treat our pets.

This film is based on the bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron. It has a 'Nicolas Sparks adopted a dog' feel about it with a Hallmark card ending.

The dog dies at least four times, including once after being accidentally shot. If you are going to brave this one, please pack your tissues. The dog is reincarnated every time as a different breed to a different owner.

We own a dog book called 'Why does my dog to that?'. It's been consulted a number of times when we had problems, and usually, the answer is 'because it's a dog'. Dogs are wild animals and need to be treated with respect.

I left this movie feeling sad-angry.

A dog's purpose is to be a dog.

A Dog's Purpose is currently showing in cinemas.
