A Day with Jane (Austen) at Ayres House

What better way to spend Mother's Day than to spend A Day with Jane – Austen that is.

You are invited to escape into the world of Jane Austen on Mother's Day 13 May 2018 from 12 pm to 3 pm at Ayres House Conservatory, 288 North Terrace, Adelaide.



Start your journey with a photo opportunity and short travel with Carriage of Occasion. You will experience romance, Regency costumes and the very best afternoon tea. In keeping with the period and the story, you will interact with characters from Jane's novels while you enjoy music in keeping with the times. Watch their stories unfold throughout the afternoon.



You may wish to wander the gardens with a friend, catch up on gossip and become acquainted with drawing. Maybe you can master the art of needlework or try your hand at a round of Jane Austen's Sweethearts card game. But then again, maybe you could learn a court dance from local choreographer Vanessa Raymond, become silhouetted, or play rhymes with rose. End the afternoon with a final concert and readings.



Cost is $84 per person and bookings are essential.

Free on street parking is available nearby on North Terrace or Kintore Avenue or paid parking is available nearby at UPark , Frome Street and North Terrace.
