Beautiful Bunyip is just over an hour away
Bunyip is a town in Gippsland that is 82 kilometres south-east of Melbourne. The area is surrounded by beautiful forests, features and a range of cafes and shops on a delightful main street. The major road connection is via the Princes Highway.
Bunyip State Falls
If you want a mildly challenging walk through the forest to see those waterfalls, you can do the three-kilometre walk from the Lawson Falls Picnic Ground, but take caution, as it is not that well marked. Here is a more detailed guide.
Bunyip Village Cafe is at 9 Main Street and serves coffee, lunches, and fish and chips. To find out more click here.
Lady Lavender's Tea House
Lady Lavenders Tea Room offers an extensive lunch menu of traditional comfort food and rich desserts. They are open 7 days a week from 10.30am to 4pm at 3085 Princes Highway in Bunyip. To find out more, click here.
