The Perth Polocrosse Club is located at the State Equestrian Centre in Brigadoon and was established in 1963.

The game of Polocrosse was brought to Australia in 1938 by Mr & Mrs Edward Hirst , who after visiting the National School of Equitation at Kingston Vale near London, watched two instructors show the exercise they had developed to supplement the riding at the school and also to give young riders better control of their horses. The exercise was played indoors two-a-side and with markers on the wall from which the ball bounced back into play. The goals were elongated basketball nets that hung at each end of the arena. The sticks were old polo sticks that had the polo mallet removed and replaced with a type of squash racquet head, which had a shallow string net to scoop up the ball.

The Hirst's, being keen on horse sports and horse breeding thought this would be an excellent game to play in the Australian outdoors. Bringing the sticks, balls and rulebooks home to Australia and enlisting the assistance of Mr Alf Pitty, who was a well-known experienced horseman and polo player, the new game emerged, which they named "Polocrosse".

Coinciding with the Australian National Polocrosse Championships Opening Ceremony, the Perth Polocrosse Club, along with Events Empire Management is hosting A Day in The Valley on Sunday 30th September 2018. The Perth Polocrosse Club hosts many events throughout the year and this event is sure to be another one of their successes. The address is The Swan Valley, 303 Cathedral Avenue, Brigadoon.
