Take a drive out to the green hills of Kenilworth
Half an hour west of Eumundi, lays the hinterland country town of Kenilworth. Known for its famous cheese factory, there's a bit more to Kenilworth than first meets the eye.

The Mary River flows down through Kenilworth and is popular with kayakers. Many folk kayack from Kenilworth which then leads down to Pickering Bridge on the Moy Pocket Road, all 14 kms of it, but bear in mind - it is a seasonal paddle.

There's a well equipped park in the main street with swings, a climbing frame and a modern version of a merry go round. There's plenty of places to lull about under large shady trees and I reckon this is one park that kids will get good mileage out of.

Kenilworth retains an old world country charm that's unlike the larger tourism towns nearby. It's quiet. It's homey. It doesn't cater only to tourists. Yet it's vibrant, abuzz and well worth a visit.

Brightly coloured parasols...

There is a museum just around the corner from the main street which unfortunately wasn't opened on the Saturday I visited. (It's open on Sundays from 10 - 2).

However, there were a few wholesome cafes (as well as a bakery) to choose from and a very impressive clothes shop that more than made up for missing the museum.

There is also a camping spot and homestead which looks great and is reasonably priced.

They offer camping, bunk rooms, and spa rooms - popular for weddings, conferences and school camps.
luscious hills of greenery

You can't beat a drive or a motorbike ride in this glorious hinterland countryside. It literally takes your breath away at the serenity and the simple beauty of lush green pastures.
