by Lilian Finch (subscribe)
I live in a beautiful part of the world and love to share parts of it with my readers.
Event: -
Was your ancestor transported for stealing a loaf of bread?

This exhibition showcases the rich, large-scale photographs of documentary photographer Mine Konakci.

The works reveal the connections between convict settlers, their direct descendants and the petty crimes that changed the course of their familiesí histories. Drawn from a diverse cross-section of the community, sitters have been photographed alongside a representation of the item, or items, stolen by their ancestors.
