A Convict in the Family? is a FREE exhibition which will be held from Saturday 4th February to Sunday 30th April, 2017 at Yarra Ranges Regional Museum.

Curated by Sydney Living Museums, A Convict in the Family? showcases the rich, large-scale photographs of documentary photographer Mine Konakci.

The thought-provoking images explore the connections between convict settlers, their direct descendants and the petty crimes that changed the course of their shared histories.

The photographs feature a diverse cross-section of ordinary Australians, who have been styled in modern settings alongside a representation of an item or items stolen by their ancestors.

After viewing the exhibition you may be interested to find out about your own family lineage and ask if you too had A Convict in the Family?
