When it comes to having an Achilles heel, I undoubtedly have a weak spot for all things sweet, as I am sure most people do. So you can imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a quaint little cake and flower shop called A Bunch of Cakes, located on the corner of Hudson's Road, Spotswood.

My first impression upon entering the store was that it exuded a warm, homely feel. The fresh smell of flowers combined with the scent of freshly baked cupcakes wafting from the kitchen is the most pleasurable assault on the senses. Flowers in every possible shape, size and colour are displayed generously outside, waiting to greet you as you walk in.



The décor inside the shop is bright and inviting, with a vast array of flowers lined up against the wall.



There is also a table splayed with beautiful cupcakes that immediately triggers my excitement, not to mention my hunger. The cupcakes are not only visually appealing, but taste as delicious as their name suggests. Anything ranging from lemon meringue and vanilla buttercake to their signature chocolate and salted caramel cupcake can be found in this store.



Many more flavours are available upon request, with the additional perk of egg and gluten free options for more picky customers. Plus, all cakes and cupcakes are made from scratch, using fresh produce such as free-range eggs and minimally processed milk and butter, which further adds to the authenticity of this shop.

Although it's hard to gain a 'dining' type experience with a cake and flower shop, I was led to believe that every customer is treated with care and warmth. The owners of the store, Jazz and Arianne, are friendly and down-to-earth, with an infectious passion for baking and, obviously, anything sweet. A Bunch of Cakes is sure to entice all lovers of cupcakes and desserts, and is bound to leave you wanting more.
