A complicated story in a beautiful landscape
A Bigger Splash is set out on the island of Pantelleria; a scenic volcanic paradise between Sicily and Tunisia. This remake of La Piscine by Jaques Deray tells the story of Marianne Lane (Tilda Swinton), a throat surgery recovering rockstar and her ex-alcoholic boyfriend, Paul De Smedt (Matthias Schoenaerts), who decide to get some private time together and enjoy a romantic secluded getaway. Their peace is suddenly interrupted by an awkward visitor, Marianne's loud and obnoxious ex-boyfriend Harry(Ralph Fiennes) and his sultry teenager daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson).

During the first few days the atmosphere is calm yet slightly uneasy. Days to follow witness characters becoming more comfortable with each other, entangled and making themselves pieces of a game that shouldn't necessarily be played, all with their own strategy in mind. They ignite jealousy, paranoia, sexual desire, hatred, true love and violence.

A Bigger Splash goes deep into the human mind, exploring the most hidden feelings of these four characters, to show at the end what was truly being felt the entire film. The outcome might surprise you and bring the best and worst out of you, by feeling sympathetic or completely indifferent to each one of them.

Marianne Lane's presence and fame has helped her and granted her many things in the past, but will it help her this time to save her true love and her own sanity?

A Bigger Splash will be released in cinemas on 24th of March.
