1 Tear a head of lettuce into pieces.
2 Drizzle red wine vinegar and Crisco oil over lettuce. Both with 2 capfuls.
3 Sprinkle salt and pepper.
If you do not have red wine vinegar or Crisco oil, use whatever vinegar and oil that you have.
99 cent salad goes good with spaghetti, another frugal meal.
Do you need to prepare a dish for a gathering? Make the 99 cent presentable even if only 99 cents! People are not going to know how much it costs.
Do you have items lurking in your fridge? Do you have a tomato, mushrooms, green bell pepper or cucumber? Toss them in!
Do you have any lunch meat in your fridge? Tear in pieces and toss them in! Personally, I like pepperoni.
