John Frost, Suzanne Jones and The Ambassador Theatre Group presents #tickets ">9 to 5 The Musical playing at The Adelaide Festival Theatre from October 15th 2022. Hosted and Narrated by Dolly Parton and featuring music and lyrics by her too and starring Marina Prior, Casey Donovan and Eddie Perfect, this show had an incredible opening night filled with laughing, singing and a standing ovation.

9 to 5 The Musical is high-energy entertainment filled with catchy songs and relatable characters. The story of three colleagues, Doralee Rhodes (Erin Clare), Violet Newstead (Marina Prior) and Judy Bernly (Casey Donovan), who work in a male orientated environment where they are under-appreciated and one day they just crack. It's an accident but one that changes their path forever. Franklin Hart Jnr (Eddie Perfect) is a womanising controlling supervisor who finally gets what's coming to him. When women start running the business, things start to look up, and so does company productivity. This hilarious comedy features witty remarks and quirky songs that will have the audience in stitches.

It has great use of set design with a TV screen broadcasting Dolly Parton right onto the stage. The cast speaks to her like she's there and she tells her story and sings along too. It was creative and witty and that was just the beginning. Erin Clare (Doralee), who portrayed Dolly, was confident, sassy and a sensational singer. Casey Donovan (Judy) always shines on stage and this show was no exception, she excels in roles where she can portray a woman standing up for women, like in Chicago. She has a voice that was meant for the stage and always leaves fans engaged, embraced and hearts full of love when she sings. Marina Prior (Violet) is more than just a Christmas Carols queen, she is a show queen too! She was bold, beautiful and vibrant throughout and her voice was made to sing 'One of the Boys'. This song was sexy and strong and portrayed a great use of set design. Donovan, Prior and Clare sang harmoniously in an amazing trio of 'Hey Boss' that left the crowd excited for the rest of the show.

With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, the musical featured all your favourite songs including '9 to 5', 'Around Here', 'I Just Might', 'Heart to Hart', 'Shine Like the Sun', 'One of the Boys', 'Love Can Grow', 'Get Out and Stay Out and more. Don't miss your chance to see this fun and quirky musical come to life at the Festival Centre this October. An amazing performance 5/5 stars featuring catchy songs, bright coloured lights and highly talented stars.
