Soft airy cakes/breads on the go
This is a great Asian bakery located in the heart of Chatswood. They specialized in fancy Asian cakes, assorted artisan breads, coffee and tea.

Before the renovation, there was a large window cake-display filled with gorgeous delicious-looking cake slices. Kids would stopped their tracks and begged their parents to buy sweets for them. Actually adults would also be drawn to this tiny bakery and convinced themselves that they need a cake now.

Perhaps the staff were tired of cleaning the display glass several times a day and decided they need a renovation to move the display cabinet inside.

This tiny bakery was jammed pack with customers this Sunday afternoon. There were just not enough space to second-guess your decision or even do a turn.

Determined mothers loaded their trays with assorted breads and make a beeline for the cashier. Fathers waited outside impatiently with the trams and the kids peeked in excitedly for the anticipating desserts.

You may wonder why this bakery is so popular?

I think fancy presentations of their cakes and breads are a major drawing card.

All are relative inexpensive. You can get a cake roll for $3.60. They come in classic vanilla, coffee, chocolate and green tea flavours. Perfect if you are visiting a friend for afternoon tea.

Each bread are individually wrapped for hygienic purpose and they are the perfect lunch box ideas for the next day.

This is a self-serve bakery. Pick up a tray and select the breads that take your fancy. Hot dog bread and pizza are my top picks.

The garlic bread stick is quite nice too, but be wary of the strong breath afterwards.

The pork-floss with mayonnaise centre is my all-time favourite.

The cakes/breads here are leaning more to suit the Asian palates - less sweet, less rich and most of them are soft, spongy and airy. All are beautifully decorated with colourful garnishes.

This bakery also serve coffee and tea to go with the cakes. They are currently running a $5 afternoon promotion for a piece of cake coffee/tea. A good combo after a tiring weekend shopping.

The only downside of this place is there is really no sitting area. Some metal chairs were lamely put out next to the busy Victoria Avenue. I am not sure why would anyone want to sit next to a busy main road and inhale all the car exhausts while eating. This is really a take-away bakery and not a sit down cafe, perfect for a quick meal/snack on the go.
