The nine-day
2017 Benalla Festival is on from Saturday 4 November to Sunday 12 November 2017.
You're invited to join in celebrating this year's theme,
Good Vibrations - a celebration of music and dance.
This festival is all about community spirit and country living where all are welcome - yes, even those city slickers.
Family Fun
The Benalla Festival is celebrated every November on the foreshore of the beautiful Benalla Lake, in the historic Botanical Gardens and at venues throughout the municipality.
Most of the events are free or low cost. The festival program aims to engage the community and visitors with a celebration of art, sport and recreation, entertainment, theatre, music, dance and much more. There will even be fireworks lighting up the night skies.
Clowning about
One of the highlights is the
Benalla Festival Street Parade which has been running for over 50 years with colourful floats, carnival characters, entertainers and bands. The parade will be held on Saturday 11 November, commencing at 2pm from the Botanical Gardens entrance and makes its way over the Monash Bridge to the Carrier Street roundabout, before returning back along Bridge Street. Colourful fun for the whole family.
A Day in the Gardens is also a popular part of the festival and will be held on Sunday 12 November. Stalls will be offering food, regional produce, homewares and handmade items. There will also be kids entertainment and live music, all at the enchanting Benalla Botanical Gardens.
And don't miss Benalla's most famous export -
Ella Hooper on Saturday 11 November at 7.30. Ella will deliver a cranking set with her four-piece band and has a magnetic stage presence not to be missed. Entry is free.
Benalla is located two hours north of Melbourne, one hour south of Albury, within the High Country region of North East Victoria.
The
Benalla Visitor Information Centre is open seven days a week from 9am-5pm except for Christmas Day.
