For something different to do, head to Welcome to Thornbury 's 5th annual Chicken Nugget Festival at 520 High St, Northcote on Saturday 19 October 2024 from 12-9pm. The humble chicken nugget is making its glorious and heroic return in October as part of the 5th annual festival. Some of the favourite vendors are being assembled to deliver you one crunchy day dedicated to the nug. Keeping it interesting and delicious is a wide range of dipping sauces to accompany and coat your nugs on the day.

There's more to the day than just nugs, with live music on the premises to keep you serenaded, plus cocktails and beers to pair with your chicken feast. The pièce de résistance is of course the nugget eating competition lovingly dubbed the Nuggetthon. It's your chance to test your grit and see if you have it in you to compete.
