Make use of free wifi

If you brought your smart phone or your laptop, then go ahead and connect to the free wifi. This is a fantastic opportunity to do something productive, like work or study. Or, you can just watch cat videos. I've found that the best spot to get strong connection is near the Hungry Jacks store.

People watch

There's a great range of people that come through airports. It's always fun to look at the different types of people and wonder what their story is. Are they travelling for business? Picking up a loved one? On the final leg of their world trip?

Go for a wander outside

If you're stuck in Adelaide airport for a really long time, then perhaps you should consider going for a walk outside the airport. Adelaide's only Ikea store is located 1.5km from the airport - which makes it about a 20 minute walk.

Read a book

It's okay if you don't have a novel with you. The Newslink store has rows and rows of new and classic books. And if you can't afford to actually purchase one, just sit down in the store and flick through the pages, or gander up and down the aisles as you read.

Drink and eat

There's no better way to pass the time than by having a few cold ones. The Coopers Alehouse has all the beer and wine that you could possibly need. They also have incredibly hearty burgers and steaks. However, be wary as the prices are quite expensive.

Seek boredom-killing inspiration

There's a vast number of articles on the internet that give some insight into making airport stopovers less awful. Here are my favourites:

You forget to mention go and see the first aircraft ever to fly from Britain to Australia, on display in a building a short distance from the modern terminal.
