As tasty as cucumbers can be, some of its best uses are not culinary. Here are just a few examples:
1. In the shower If, like me, you've had enough of trying to clean foggy bathroom mirrors after showering, try rubbing a slice of cucumber along the mirror. Not only will the fog be gone, but your bathroom will have a fresher fragrance afterwards.
2. As a hair product To reverse the effects of everyday damage to hair, simply mix a teaspoon of vinegar with cucumber juice and water. Leave in hair for 15 minutes and then rinse out for beautiful, shiny hair.
3. The garden
To maintain a pest-free garden, place a small tin with slices of cucumber in your garden. Pests hate the smell of the photochemicals in cucumber, and will avoid your garden like the plague. Just remember to replace the cucumbers regularly.
4. Kids' mistakes If you've got kids that love to draw on everything (including your walls), simply rub a peeled cucumber over the graffiti and watch the problem fade away, literally.
5. And the best for last… Cucumbers are fat-burning, cellulite-fighting machines. Cucumbers contain a photochemical that tightens collagen, reducing puffiness and firming the skin. Not only can cucumber be used to firm and tighten the area around the eyes, but rubbing a cucumber on those problem areas (think cellulite) will help to reduce the visibility of it.
