for a cheap and cheerful cinema choice
Located on Oxford Street Bulimba, the 6 cinemas of locally owned Balmoral Cineplex are the perfect place for a movie experience. Here are 5 reasons to watch your next movie here:
1. The prices Not only does the cinema showcase a certain old world charm, but its prices also reflect this intent. Although prices vary for day or night, week or weekend sessions, they are always comparatively very reasonable with Adult tickets from as low as $7.50.
The cinema candy bar offers a range of options, including many old favourites (choc tops etc) retro lolly choices and prices that are much more reasonable than larger chains. (A medium popcorn and slushy together will come in at under $5 for example).
3. The parking Parking is free! The cinema has its own car park with boom gate entry from Oxford Street, but don't forget to collect a free token from the box office. Although the car park is easily filled at peak-times, there is always the rooftop option (with entry via Pine Street) or street parking, however, you might be in for a bit of a walk.
Oxford Street is a favourite amongst South Brisbane destinations with the strip offering a range of shopping and dining options, a few blocks walk from the City Cat Bulimba ferry stop.
5. The dining Not only is there a café within the complex, but there are numerous Oxford Street dining options, from sushi and yum cha to Italian and Mexican. And with The Cupcake Parlour not far away and Max Brenner now across from the cinema, sweet treat options are plentiful too.
