Walk in for friendly service at 5 Little Pigs cafe
On a recent holiday to Huskisson, our family noticed the popularity of the cafe on the first day of our visit - and then every day after that! There was never a time that we walked by, that it wasn't full of happy locals and tourists relaxing with good food and hot coffees. To try and beat the crowds, we decided to get there early for breakfast on the last morning of our holiday, to see why it was the most popular cafe in town. As soon as we walked in the door, we were warmly welcomed and then we settled into our table by the window, to watch the world go by.

The
menu at 5 Little Pigs is extensive and creative. When a friendly staff member came over to take our order, she was happy to explain some of the more unusual ingredients on the menu, as well as the range of specials available that day. In the end, we couldn't go past the delicious-looking meals that we had seen on other tables as we walked in - a jam-packed breakfast burger brimming with chilli jam and a healthy bircher muesli, piled high with slivers of granny smith apples and fruit. Our young daughter was looking forward to a ham and cheese croissant and baby chino, while we were keen to try the organic
Swell coffee from Wollongong, that had people coming back for more.
When everything was delivered to our table we were more than impressed with our selection - and couldn't wait to tuck in!
Breaky Burger with brioche roll, bacon, egg, spinach, cheese & their own tomato chilli jam ($12)
Bircher Muesli with seeds, cranberry, macadamia nuts, maple labne, freeze-dried raspberries and seasonal fruit ($12.50)
The best coffee in Huskisson and a tasty ham and cheese croissant at 5 Little Pigs
The tasty Breaky Burger had a well-balanced mix of ingredients and a house-made chilli jam that had an instant
"wow" factor. We were so enamoured with it that we bought a jar to take home - the ultimate souvenir from our holiday!
The Bircher Muesli was also one of the best that I have ever had - it was up there with any breakfast cafe in any city around the country. The whole cafe in general could be transported to any cafe strip around Australia and stand out as a cafe that has it all - outstanding food, friendly staff and an ambiance to relax in. It is a holiday cafe that makes you want to visit Huskisson again - just for this cafe! Well, the other attractions around the region may also beckon us back - but good food and coffee certainly makes this scenic holiday destination that little bit sweeter...
