Vivaldi's The Four Seasons was reborn this month at Qpac by Australian choreographer Kristina Chan, Expressions Dance Company's Natalie Weir and Dominic Wong of Hong Kong's City Contemporary Dance Company.
Together they created a visually stunning guide through the seasons in way of motion, lighting, art and dance. The Australian–Chinese fusion is a collaboration brought about by Expressions Dance Company's dance exchange project.
20 graceful dancers perform a threaded theme expressed by three difference choreographers, reminding us of the beauty and intrigue in different perspectives and interpretations. The pieces range from dramatic, to gentle and thought-provoking.
The stage, sound and lighting brilliantly framed and guided the scenes, adding weight to heightened moments and encouraging focus and story assistance throughout.
If you enjoy contemporary-style dance, you will enjoy the free-flowing modern expression of this piece. These two acclaimed dance companies bring their best to create a truly unforgettable unique experience. The show comes to us direct from a sold-out international season and since been received with rave reviews.
