This is the 5th year that this annual event will be held. As with past years, it will be a day full of family entertainment, markets, food, music and heaps more. So if you want to celebrate the "best of the west" this free family-friendly event is promising to be a great day out. 4074 Family Fun Day is on Sunday 8 September from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm at Rocks Riverside Park, 5 Counihan Road, Seventeen Mile Rocks (postcode 4073). Car parking is plentiful within the park, but if you are not there early enough, there is plenty of street parking too which is also free.
Go along and experience this family-friendly (as the name implies) annual charity event. There will be a fun jumping castle, train rides and other activities for children such as face painting, a petting animal farm, plus lots of kids' games and sports. For mums and dads, there will be delicious food trucks (including the ubiquitous and crowd-pleasing sausage sizzle), sweet treats, drinks, pop-ups, live music (relax while the kids are being entertained), talented local artists performing throughout the day and much more. This event is primarily for families and the community to come together and enjoy a day filled with old-fashioned fun and entertainment.

Additionally, explore the market, with hand-made crafts, wildlife education, food, toys, home decor, beauty products and other wonderful stalls. This is a great way to support your local community. The raffle stall is full of terrific prizes generously donated by the local business community. They will also run a 'cent auction' along with grocery, money tree, movie package and bundle-o-booze raffles. The raffles will be drawn later in the day but if you're not there, don't worry, they will contact you to organise the collection of your prize. For further details, check out the 2074 website or Facebook.

Thousands of locals attended last year and raised $13,840 that went to two charitable organisations: DanDaLion Friends and Logan House Fire Support Network. 2019 promises to be bigger and even better than in 2018. And the weather forecast says a sunny 25 degrees. You can't ask for a better spring day than that in our beautiful Sunshine State. This year's Family Day is very kindly sponsored by the TEAM Estate Agents and other local businesses. Most rides and attractions are free but some have a small fee which raises money for local charities such as Project Love and Care, Enhanced Care, Miraa House, and Mt Ommaney Special School, among others. They tend to choose organisations that don't get a lot of recognition or support but who quietly work their magic and are a wonderful asset to those in the community who rely on their skills and support.

Where is 4074? 4074 is the postcode for the Centenary Suburbs, a group of vibrant suburbs in the south-west of Brisbane. The area was given its name in 1959, Queensland's centenary year that marked its separation from NSW in 1859. Originally the land was all known as Jindalee. In 1967, the Australian Scout Jamboree was held in what is now Jamboree Heights. The seven 4074 suburbs are Mount Ommaney, Jindalee, Jamboree Heights, Riverhills, Westlake, Middle Park and Sumner. I think it is a lovely area with a high degree of community spirit.
