Promoting young & emerging artists
The aim of the 40 & Under art exhibition is to promote young and emerging artists in South Australia. This exciting SALA (South Australia Living Artists) exhibition will take place at the gallery space in Bethany Hall, Willunga.
40 & Under SALA Exhibition - Artist Brooke Walker
Artist Showcase The artists showcased are painter Elizabeth Bradley, photographer Warren Bradley, print and watercolour artist Jessica Johnson and painter and charcoal drawing artist Brooke Walker.
Jessica Johnson has a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) from the University of South Australia (2015) and has had her artwork displayed at Year 12 SSABSA Art Exhibition and chosen by the Minister of Education to be displayed in the Department of Education (2011-2012). Further info here.
Brooke Walker works in both charcoal pencil and oil paint. Her work is highly detailed and uses a realistic style approach. Brooke relates to animals and sees the world through their eyes to try and resonate with the struggles these creatures are facing due to habitat loss, illegal poaching etc. Brooke teaches classes in charcoal drawing. Her recent awards include: Painting Life on Death won the Solar Art Prize 2018: Public Responsibility.
Brooke's painting Soul won the 2018 Characters of the Fleurieu Art Prize. Brooke will be attending the Other Art Fair in Melbourne in August. Further info here

Opening Launch The exhibition opening launch is on Saturday, August 4th @ 2pm with guest speaker Gail Kellett. Gail Kellett has been a mentor to many, many students as a teacher at Willunga High School. She is also an accomplished artist in her own right.
The exhibition will also have cards and other product designs on sale. An event not to be missed when investigating SALA - South Australia Living Artists catalogue. The exhibition will be open on weekends from 1 - 4pm & Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
