[ADVERT]Come Saturday 4th of August, Kelvin Grove's cultural hub will play host to the third annual 4 Walls Festival.
Presented by Youth Music Industries (YMI), 4 Walls aims to provide a platform for up-and-coming and local artists to showcase their skills to an appreciative audience. Brisbane has come a long way in recent years in terms of cultivating local artists and this year, 4 Walls is set be even bigger than before.
With previous acts featured including Matt Corby (before his meteoric rise), four-piece The Cairos, and local boys and my personal favourites The Last Dinosaurs, you can be sure the experience will be an aurally pleasing one.
This year, you can look forward to The Paper Kites (try "Featherstone"), local trio Avaberee, and cult-favourites Millions, along with a cohort of 17 other impressive artists spread across three stages over eight hours. With tickets going for only $23.50 (or $25 at the door) for eight hours of quality music and a great atmosphere, I anticipate the 2012 4 Walls Festival to be one of the more jealousy-inducing events on the local music scene.
