As the days get cooler and winter approaches it's tempting to stay inside and hibernate until the warmer weather returns. However, there are some great events on this month that'll make you want to rug up and take the family outside, and the best part is that they're all free.

1. Geelong after Dark

On Friday the 4th of May, the popular Geelong After Dark event will return. Starting at 6pm, the event will take place in Central Geelong and will include glowing pieces of art, live music, short performances and more.

2. Bunnings Mother's Day Event

Bunnings Waurn Ponds will host a Mother's Day Family Night from 6pm - 8pm on Thursday the 10th of May 2018. The event will include a range of activities, such as:
Free food will be available too and will include a sausage sizzle and fairy floss.

3. Geelong Gallery Family Fun Day

On the 20th of May, Geelong Gallery will be hosting a Family Fun Day which will include a couple of fantastic activities for children. In the first session (10am-11:30am), participants will be able to make their own book cover using collage techniques.
The second session is suitable for children aged between 5-10, and involves helping artists Isobel Knowles and Cat Rabbit recreate a 3D cloud town.
The Geelong Gallery event will be run in conjunction with the Geelong Libraries' free event,
'Reimagine—the world according to children's books: Family Fun Day'.
4.Geelong One Fire Reconciliation in the Park
