The Kind of Gallery hosts a wide variety of exhibitions that explore different aspects and styles of art.

The opening night will be Wednesday 6th of May at 6:00-9:00pm. The 3.99Hz Exhibition will be on show every Wednesday - Saturday 11:00-4:00pm until the 16th of May.

"The aim is to encourage the viewer to question and explore the depths of their mind, dreams and imagination." explains Hall. It will attempt to make you more observant to the wonders of the mind and the beauty of science.

The 3.99Hz will reveal some of the intricacies of the mind, begging questions like "What would happen if we took away the usual boundaries that govern our minds?" and "What is the significance of our dreams?"

Largely inspired by the experiments of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, the 3.99Hz exhibition will enter into the concept of the subconscious and the curious happenings of the mind. This interactive art exhibition will feature the work of Sydney creative director Chrissie Hall and Melbourne artist Angie Taylor. Visitors are very encouraged to interact with the various experiments that will be on display in the exhibition.

Another influence are the surrealist artists Max Ernst and James Gleeson and the imagination of David LaChapelles images.

You'll see selected films, hear a transfixing Biomechanical soundscape, installations, photography and paintings, made to evoke thoughts in the subconscious, dream-like states and our curious imaginations.

The featured work will celebrate two Australian-based artists whose achievements will be mentioned below:

* Sydney artist and creative director at Xray Doll, Chrissie Hall has had both solo and group exhibitions in Australia and globally working with paint, photography and film. XRay Doll is a photographic and film production company that specializes in art based films, music videos and photography for advertising campaigns and promotional material.

Her extensive profile of work challenges the norm, with artistic creations existing outside the conventions of art. She is able to capture the "other" in surreal environments, encapsulating an element of enigma and danger ranging from dreamscapes to erotic imagery.

Her art captivates all audiences, challenging their perceptions of what is real.

*Angie Taylor is a Melbourne based artist and curator. She has worked in Australia and abroad curating on various exhibitions and creative research projects. For instance, she has had valuable experience working for the Anne Frank Trust UK and Madame Tussaude's London.

Her medium preferences are paint, photography and print making, however, she enjoys experimenting with other art forms and is currently exploring stop animation and installation art.
