New kid on the culinary block in Peel Street
There's a new kid on the block fronted by Peel Street, South Brisbane. 35 Bar & Bistro is one of South Brisbane's newest bistro-style restaurants, bar and bottle shop, located on the ground floor of The Capitol Apartments. It offers a casual and relaxing atmosphere, with a contemporary Mediterranean breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, as well as a great wine and cocktail list.

35 Bar and Bistro's Executive Chef, Sean Calliste has a resume few chefs world-wide could rival, and the proof of his curriculum vitae is in the eating. He has had over twenty years' experience in his chosen profession as a chef, one of the most recent being the highly awarded Jellyfish restaurant in Brisbane. His passion has taken him to Café Lilli in North East England which featured in relish cookbook as one of the North's top restaurants, and Barefoot Art Food Wine on Magnetic Island where he garnered three Restaurant awards in 2008. Having been mentored by culinary greats such as Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White, Sean is a born leader in his kitchen domain where he expects the best from his staff and himself. His skills have given him world-wide experience, including top restaurant chains in Canada and Grenada.

Restaurant manager, Risko Isic, has also had twenty years' experience as a professional in the Food and Beverage industry. His hotel management studies were conducted at the famous Hospitality School in Zurich from whence he worked in many prestigious venues such as the 3 Michelin Star Restaurant Fischerzunft in Schaffhausen. He has had experience in some of the best establishments in Brisbane, owning Mariosarti in Toowong and instituting fine dining on the Wheel of Brisbane. He has earned some of the highest recognitions from the Australian Restaurant and Catering Industry.

35 Bar & Bistro's on-site function room can cater to group bookings from 10 – 150 people in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Various catering options are available from plated hot breakfasts to full 3 course dinner options. Décor in the bar area reflects Brisbane's landscape, with displayed paintings for sale. This is indicative of the community-minded management who are promoting the works of local artists.
