2015 marks the 30th Anniversary of the launch of R707 - officially christened the "City of Melbourne" at a special ceremony at Spencer Street Station in July 1985.[/b]To commemorate this anniversary, 707 Operations Inc is inviting all to enjoy a return trip from their depot at Newport to Bacchus Marsh on Sunday 12th July 2015. This special all-day tour will pay tribute to all those associated with both PLAN R and 707 Operations throughout the period of restoration and operation.Guests will travel in comfort and style onboard the heritage train from the Gardens Platform within the Newport Heritage Workshops or Newport Metro to Bacchus Marsh across Victoria's western grasslands. The train will arrive at Bacchus Marsh at 11.55 am and guests are encouraged to explore the town's many gardens, cafes, galleries and hotels. The train will then depart Bacchus Marsh Station at 2.40 pm and arrive at Newport at approximately 3.50 pm.Whilst onboard guests can purchase premium espresso coffee, delicious A Bunch of Cakes cup cakes and assorted snacks and cold beverages.
