30 Something /LINK] is a fun-filled feast of music. [LINK=https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0779671/]Phil Scott] and Catherine Alcorn play an estranged couple performing a New Year's Eve show as the 1930s come to an end. The stage is set as Club Corona in Sydney's King Cross and the audience is asked to play along with the premise of it being a New Year's show.

During the ninety-minute show Catherine (who channels her inner Bette Midler) belts out songs and sass, supported by a four-piece ensemble that includes Phil on the piano. The show features the music of Fats Waller and Cole Porter as well as reimagined modern pieces from artists such as Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue. As the audience Step(ped) Back In Time whilst Putting On The Ritz they were amazed by the boogie-woogie makeover of Lady Gaga's Born This Way and a soulful rendition of In The Air Tonight.

Audience participation is encouraged especially from the cabaret tables that are located amongst the action. The "New Year's Eve" show is punctuated with a good sprinkling of humour, innuendo, witty repartee, cheeky political commentary and topical references. Be warned there are drug references, advertisement breaks, a quiz and even a "police raid" due to the sale of illicit alcohol.

30 Something is highly recommended if you are prepared to play along and have a toe-tapping nostalgic singalong.
