I have to admit to being impressed by the way some small businesses have adapted to changing circumstances during the current health situation.
A favourite spot for coffee, 3 Tiers Cafe in Ormiston, is a case in point. Located in a small neighbourhood shopping centre situated near a busy thoroughfare that services public transport stations and schools, this unassuming cafe, not only has both dine-in and verandah dining areas but also caters to online orders with Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Menulog.
Who would do that you may ask? People on their way to work needing their coffee fix and the $6 Bacon and Egg Breakfast Muffin. (Yes, okay, I was naughty and added a couple of Hash Browns for an additional $3).
The cafe also specialises in a variety of treats to tease the tastebuds at morning tea and is a favourite for those wanting to celebrate a birthday or special event with a High Tea.
During school holidays, when busy Mums and Dads are desperately in need of that caffeine fix, you can even treat the kiddies to a cupcake at 3 Tiers Cafe,v which they can decorate themselves before gobbling.
When we were in the height of lockdown, given 24 hours notice, 3 Tiers Cafe came to the rescue by supplying picnic fodder which could be enjoyed by all ages at local parks.
Located at 116 Wellington Street, Ormiston, this venue has proved both flexible and dependable, particularly over recent weeks. The casual ambience makes it comfortable as does its designated Children's Menu. I'm up for the High Tea next visit.
