[ADVERT]Okay, so Sydney has the Harbour Bridge and Queensland has Bob Katter. Adelaide and Tasmania have their serial killers and Perth (my hometown) - well, the only 'culture' you'll find in Perth is in a tub of yoghurt!

I moved to Melbourne 12 years ago and have never looked back. I have travelled extensively but always return to beautiful Melbourne - it is my adopted home and I'll probably perish here.

Below I have listed three great reasons to move to Melbourne.

Art & Culture

Melbourne is a hive of creative activity. It is an artist's hub. Whether you like seeing bands, attending film festivals or browsing street art as you wander, Melbourne has it all. There are a lot of indie scenes in Melbourne too - indie film, indie poetry, indie art - it's all about getting out there and getting involved. If you can't find your niche, create it! Melburnians tend to be nourishing and supportive of the emerging or green artist. It's the place to be if you are wanting to flourish creatively.

Food, Wine & Coffee

I couldn't get over how cosmopolitan Melbourne was when I initially moved here. It caters for every cuisine under the sun, as well as every budget. If you are eating out, Melbourne aims to please.

I am a huge fan of vino, always on the prowl for a pleasing drop of red. If you are like me, then you will love the wine bars that litter Melbourne - both elegant and classy. It is a wine connoisseur's paradise.

Are you a caffeine addict? Then you should move to Melbourne. Melbourne has the reputation of making some of the best coffee in the world. But it's not just about the coffee, it's about the atmosphere. The place is abundant with cafes - cafes for the cool, cafes for the elite, and cafes for the bohemian. Grab a coffee at a cafe on Brunswick Street or Lygon Street and watch the world go by.

Sport

You've got to dig a city that takes the day off for a horse race. Melburnians are sporting mad and boast the sporting mecca of Australia. Whether you want to have a memorable day at the gee-gees by attending the world renowned Melbourne Cup or you want to see your AFL team thrash a Melbourne team at the MCG (that sentence is obviously aimed at fellow interstaters) Melbourne is the playground to do it.

I also suggest you start an argument with a Melbournian about sport. It won't be dull. They are very passionate and sensitive about their sport; just poke them in the right places!

I could give you an array of good reasons to move to Melbourne, as I am obviously an advocate. But I won't go on, that would be pushy - you know that Melbourne is the most awesome city in Australia, don't you?
