Nestled in trendy and bustling Fitzroy Street is one of St Kilda's funkiest bars, 29th Apartment. If you're looking for delicious cocktails and delectable snacks, it's a great place to enjoy a night out.
The décor is inspired by an average apartment, complete with BBQ tables, sofas, a big screen TV, bookcase, fish tank and even a bed to lie on for when you're feeling a bit worse for wear by the end of the night.
If you're game for some old fashioned fun then take your pick from the likes of Guess Who, Connect 4, Jenga and a deck of cards to accompany a cocktail or two. You'll feel right at home in 29th Apartment, literally.
Must try cocktails include: Big Apple, 29th Moscow Mule and Forbidden Fruit. All cocktails are priced between $17 and $20, wines are priced from $8 and beers and ciders from $7.50.
The bar can get very busy and you may be waiting a long time to get served whilst cocktails are being stirred and shaken to perfection, but attention to detail is never taken lightly by the staff here.
Fitzroy Street is full of bars and restaurants, so whether you drop in between bars, or after grabbing a bite to eat, 29th Apartment is a Melbourne highlight. If you're anything like me you will have noticed that some of the so-called best bars in Melbourne have been a huge disappointment, for example Cookie, The Vineyard and Toff, are all extremely overrated, too busy to breathe and sometimes, a bit of a dump. So if you're looking for a good night out, try some of the quirky, low key, laid back gems that Melbourne has to offer.
