We are here.

23 Cafe & Bar is situated in the North Ringwood Shopping Centre. Its menu is described as modern Australian.

Its early opening times suggests there are some very hungry people in Ringwood North at 5 o'clock in the morning, and their breakfast menu certainly caters for them.

On two occasions I have had my morning coffee there, complete with one of their delicious vanilla slices. They have other slices and cakes, as well as many ready to go wraps for those in a hurry.

During our weekday lunch, they weren't particularly busy and the staff of four were all very friendly and cheerful, which added to the ambience of our dining experience.

The menu caters for all tastes. One item was a Vegetarian Gyoza Bowl. I'm sure any of our vegetarian readers would know what that was.

After careful perusal of the lunch menu, I chose Cheat Day Fries. That sounded good, a main course based on chips. It is best described word for word from the menu. "Sidewinder fries topped with mac and cheese and pulled pork, finished with American cheese sauce, tomato and sour cream." And good and it was.

My dining partner chose the Everything Burger. "Beef patty, fried chicken, bacon, American cheese, tomato, mac & cheese, butter lettuce, red onion pickle, burger sauce on a charcoal bun."

The aptly named Everything Burger.

There were two empty plates left on the table in short time. The coffee was so good I had two, both nice and hot as ordered.

I thought the price was very reasonable. The two mains, a side of fries, three coffees and a Coke all for $55-00.

The café is on two levels and can also be entranced from the rear car park.

If you are in Ringwood when the hungries hit, head north and indulge at 23.

There is a large car park behind the shopping centre with access from Warrandyte Road and Oban Road.
