What's new in Banyule? 21 artworks, that's what. The Banyule Council has recently acquired 21 new pieces of art, which will be displayed for the Banyule community for the first time in an upcoming exhibition, 21 NEW: A Selection of Recent Acquisitions.

The exhibition will be presented at the Banyule Arts Space (14 Ivanhoe Parade, Ivanhoe). Opening night will be on Wednesday April 20, 6-8pm, with entertainment provided by the Phoenix Singers. (RSVP is required if attending this night - please phone 9457 9906). The exhibition will be open on Wednesday-Saturday, 11am-5pm from April 21 until May 14.

In addition to these featured 21 works, the Banyule Art Collection consists of over 450 other pieces of art - both historical and contemporary - including paintings, jewellery, ceramics, glass, textiles, sculptures and artist's books. These are displayed in temporary exhibitions at Banyule Arts Space and other council and community venues across Banyule, such as libraries, schools and council service centres. Check out Banyule Arts for details of future exhibitions.
