It's just one short day from 9am to 9pm on Saturday 9 November 2024 - but the list of entertainment and fun to be had at the Rotary Eltham Festival is long, with something for everyone. A gold coin donation on entry is appreciated, when you head for Alistair Knox Park, Panther Place and Eltham Central Park Oval, Eltham. Brought to you by the Rotary Club of Eltham and proudly supported by Nillumbik Shire Council, please note, sustainability is at the forefront with single-use plastics including straws, cutlery, plates etc now banned in Victoria and balloons will not be available. There are free rides for smaller kids near the Main Stage and behind the playground from 10am to 8pm; free face painting from 10am to 6pm; Animals of the Magic Mountains on the Main Stage at 11am; Camel Rides at $15 around the oval from 10am to 4pm; and a whole lot more. Check out the timeframes on the program thoroughly so as not to miss out on your favourites on the Main Stage from 10am to 7pm. Look forward to the legendary Eltham Fireworks - bring a rug and secure your spot from the best vantage point. The map in the program will give you an indication of where you'll find the hot spots of entertainment, including a second stage (Community Stage), information tent, water station and more. The 'Have a Go Oval' (10am to 4pm) is filled with mostly free local sports, games and activities to try out. Abseiling Tower; Rotary Races; Soccer; Tennis; Junior Football; Mini Golf; Karate; Lacrosse etc - give it a go and you just might find your calling. If you'd rather watch, there are Viking re-enactments that demonstrate aspects of life in the Middle Ages on the Oval. With so much to look forward to, including a pottery teaching studio, be sure to put the date in your diary. It goes without saying, there's food, drink and market stalls galore, and displays and roving entertainers to help make your day special.
