Registration is now open for the 2016 David Parkin Oration for Sport and Social Change on 20th July 2016, from 6pm to 7.15pm at Deakin Edge, Federation Square.
The David Parkin Oration for Sport and Social Change was established by the Deakin University Council in 2012 as a public lecture to be delivered annually by an eminent person within the industry. Past Orators include have included, Mr Andrew Demetriou, Mr Kevin Sheedy AM and Hon Jeff Kennett AC.
This year's oration will be delivered by Caroline Wilson, one of Australia's most recognised female sporting personalities. In the 35 years since Caroline Wilson has been covering football, the game has changed. Once a male domain, Caroline has played a key part in bridging the gap and breaking down barriers, proving women can win, not just play, in a man's world.
The David Parkin Oration is a free public event and all are welcome to attend. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from Caroline as she reflects on her journey sharing her triumphs and tribulations that have led to social change in a male arena.
