Watching basketball on the TV is great, but what's even more exciting is being in the crowd catching all the action – live and all for free.
Now it's one thing watching the NBL, and a whole other experience watching the awe-inspiring game of wheelchair basketball, especially when it's the
Queensland Wheelchair Basketball State Championships . Over 100 athletes are set to play, from novices to paralympic level athletes. These players will be coming from all around Australia to compete in this tactical game of strength and strategy.
For those who have watched these talented players at their best, knocking down free throws and the occasional three on regulation height hoops is amazing to say the least. The players' only way of blocking their opponents is with their chair. It's entertaining and it's competitive and only the best can make it to the State Championships, which promises to be a crowd-pleaser.
The event will be running for a full three days, so make sure you plan your schedule accordingly in order to catch all the plays. The Championships, also known as "the Classics", will be held at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, and admission is free. So start preparing for the Classics and show your support by attending this remarkable three day event.
