The Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2011 is fast approaching, kicking off on March 30, and soon after it is Sydney's turn, with the annual Sydney Comedy Festival 2011 opening on April 11. Expect to see local and international world-class comedians from every corner of the globe, in iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House and the Enmore Theatre. Here are just some of the festival highlights;

The UK's Gina Yashere, in her latest show "I'm Gonna Keep Shouting Till You Notice Me". She is best known for her characters 'Tanya' and 'Mrs. Omokorede' on The Lenny Henry Show.




Irish comedian Tommy Tiernan, in his latest show "Designer Wino"



Comedian/musician Reggie Watts, in his latest show "Why S*** So Crazy?"



Ardal O'Hanlon, who is best known for his role as 'Father Dougal McGuire' in the classic Father Ted.



Ventriloquist Nina Conti and her friends take the stage in the upcoming show "Talk to the Hand"



The always popular Stephen K Amos is back with his latest show "The Best Medicine"



There is also the latest show from Mark Watson.



Danny Bhoy also returns with his latest show "Messenger (Please Do Not Shoot)"



Other performers/shows include Chris Radburn, Scared Weird Little Guys, Steve Hughes and RocKwiz, as well as the usual festival events such as Preview Night and Cracker Night at Parade, Enmore, Seymour and Metro.
