The Honourable Phryne Fisher, dazzling socialite and sleuth extraordinaire, requests the pleasure of your company at a to be held on Saturday 12 September at the beautiful Rippon Lea House and Gardens . Style and a sense of je ne sais quoi are mandatory. Bobbed hair, cloche hats, parasols and wide silk pants are optional.

In the fabulous world of Phryne Fisher, glamorous garden parties held on sweeping, manicured lawns are de rigueur. Throw in a spot of vintage tennis, a lazy game of croquet and drinks that inevitably contain at least a dash of gin and you have the complete cultured picture.

While Phryne herself won't be present at this party, you will no longer just be a spectator enjoying all the aristocratic ambience from your living room chair. You can soak it all up in person, including croquet and vintage tennis, in Rippon Lea's magnificent gardens and then book yourself in for a makeover at the pop up 1920s hair and makeup salon, courtesy of the sensational stylists from The Distinctive Dame . You'll also be able to buy 1920s style food and drink.

When you've had your fill of the great outdoors, you can check out the architectural splendour of Rippon Lea House itself, Aunt Prudence's mansion in the ABC's popular Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. It is currently home to the Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries Costume Exhibition , featuring costumes, sets and props from Series Three. You'll be floating in a sea of Phryne fashion created by the series costume designer, Marion Boyce — what better way could you spend a spring afternoon in Melbourne?

Bring out your inner flapper and party like it's the 1920s. It will be the cat's pyjamas .
