There's a new buzz in town. It's the
1905 Coffee On Newcastle. And no, it's not just like any other café. It is Perth's newest social enterprise dedicated to the training and employment of people with disability and mental illness.

Recently opened some two and a half months ago, groundwork for the 10-week Certificate 1 Hospitality training course for disadvantaged workers is
en route. It will include a seven-week offsite training component and a three-week onsite industry exposure model. Part of the training will be carried out at the cafe, while the other components will be hosted at other premises/businesses.

How about the menu?
1905 Coffee On Newcastle offers quality coffee and short-order food menu. My friend and I visited the café during the weekend for breakfast. As a coffee drinker, I truly enjoyed my cappuccino.

Large cappuccino or long black , $ 4.50
I am not always very adventurous on breakfast meals, so I ordered my usual favourite: omelette. But seeing the nice presentation of my friend's meal when it was served, I could have easily changed my mind and ordered the same.

Omelette with cheese, chives and tomato, on sour dough toast, $ 11.50
More so when he kept complimenting the food. His was corn fritters with crispy bacon & truss tomatoes, served on baby spinach. I got tempted to try it and as I did, I knew I would order the same meal next time.

Overall, it was a good experience. We like the meals and we like the business concept.
