Welcome to Willy Wonka's World where Chocolate isn't a recipe, it's a style of life. Chocolate has been my best bud since I was 8 years old, it's been my lips companion ever since my grandpa introduced me to the swirly world of brown happiness years ago. Right until this very moment my tongue has to say hello to a chocolate bar, cake, drink or even shavings each day not only 'cause it tastes deliciously heaven, but also to remember my beloved grandpa and my home.
As I was trying to include chocolate in some recipes, I accidentally found out that it can be used in many ways other than eating and drinking that I had no clue of;
1-
Grab a bite: yummy eating chocolate in its many forms of chocolate truffles, cakes, ice creams, bars, cookies, crepes, spread and pralines.
2-
Take a sip: indulging in a cup of hot cocoa, chocolate frappe and chocolate milk shakes.
3-
Lip-smacking: pucker up for the best lip balm right between your teeth; make your own chocolate lip balm;
- Melt the cocoa butter in the microwave, add the chocolate chips and stir until melted. You may have to microwave the mixture again for a few seconds, add vitamin E and oil then stir very well, or the lip balm will turn out lumpy and finally pour into a small container. voila: your homemade chocolate lip balm, just make sure not to eat it.
4-
Body paint: yes chocolate is really good for messaging your body since it's best for the skin as it helps fight cellulite and stimulates relaxation. So don't freak out when you register for some spa and you find out they use chocolate, it just means that you have to pay extra.
5-
Remedy: chocolate can help get rid of stomach-aches, relieve coughs, diarrhea, help maintain good cholesterol levels and prevent cancer.
6-
Feel-good snack: as we all know, it's a stress free food since it releases endorphins and serotonin in your body making you feel happier and more relaxed, so it does have magical powers to mend a broken heart, lift your spirits, bring your loved ones back and put a smile on your tummy.
7-
Wrap it: giving chocolates as gifts means that you love and cherish this person, especially if you know what type of chocolate to give as a gift…not everyone likes snickers!
8-
Play it: Since chocolate is a love-enhancer, it can be used in a lot of couples' games like;
Candy bar guess (blindfold the couples and give each one three different kinds of bars; Three Musketeers, Snickers, Twix and give each one a bite and let them write down what they guessed.)
Or
Chocolate candy toss(Have the men sit in chairs and the women stand 10 feet away. Give each woman a cup with 30 small chocolate candies like M&M's and the women must try to toss the candy into their partner's mouth) and many other games.
9-
Beautify: you can use chocolate as main ingredient for a homemade facial mask that would cleanse your face and leave your skin moist and glowing. There is
the chocolate orange mask (you can melt a few squares of chocolate bar and add orange essential oil to it),
the heavy chocolate mask (Mix together a heaping Tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder with heavy cream to form a paste),
the chocolate yoghurt honey mask (Blend cocoa powder with honey and yogurt. Cocoa powder can be difficult to blend, so be patient with this step. Keep mixing until mixture looks like melted chocolate) and there are lots to go for.
10-
Healthy teeth: believe it or not, chocolate can be used as a fluoride alternative for fighting cavities and it's even more effective. The caffeine in chocolate helps harden the teeth making them less prone to decay. (According to Tulane University doctoral candidate Arman Sadeghpour)
11-
A new alternate clean source of Car power: Cars love chocolate too, yes your car down there is all about the sweets and the results are astonishing for you and your sweet car. It turns out that the Escherichia coli bacteria have a sweet tooth, and when they gorge on left-over chocolate, they produce hydrogen that can be used as a clean source of power. (based on the Researchers at the UK's University of Birmingham)
12-
Built-in triceps: chocolates can help build your muscles along with exercise of course. Just drink chocolate milk shake after your workout and it'll do the trick.
13-
Scent of a chocolate: the smell of chocolate is the most pleasant in the whole world, people will be pining after your cocoa beans' aroma so why can't you make your own.
- Add 5 drops of chocolate fragrance oil to 1/4th cup of pure grain alcohol, add one drop at a time, stirring the contents of the cup while adding the chocolate fragrance oil. Place the mixture in a cool shaded place; leave it from 2 to 4 days. Then add 2 tablespoons of distilled water to the mixture, slowly stir until the water gets mixed as well. To make it last longer, add 1 tablespoon of glycerin to the mixture and don't forget to gently stir. And here you are your homemade chocolate perfume.
14-
Bath time: you can make a chocolate soap where you can wash your hands and have a yummy bath everyday;
- Chop baking chocolate into small chunks and set aside. Warm coconut oil and olive oil on the stove or in the microwave, once the oils are melted, add the baking chocolate and stir until completely melted.
Bring temperature to near 120 °F. Exact temperature is not critical. Add sodium hydroxide to the water. Mix well. Allow to cool to near 120 °F. Once again.
Combine oils and lye solution. Stir until thin trace. Add fragrance if you desire. Stir well. Pour soap into molds. Allow to sit until soap is firm. Cut into bars. Stack to allow good air circulation. Allow to cure for several days before using…there, your very own homemade chocolate soap, enjoy!
15-
Say chocolate-cheese: I know it may sound strange, but chocolate can really enhance the taste of cheese if blend together, so next time try to eat those sweet and sour mix, then tell me what do you think!
Finally in some cultures, I think the Mayans, actually use chocolate as a currency. I am not kidding I have goggled it and it turned out to be true. So when you take your next chocolate bite remember that you can buy a sweater with this bar somewhere.
