The picture perfect Ryde Parramatta Gold Club is situated on Victoria Rd, West Ryde and houses (what I believe to be) a well kept secret amongst the Golf Club members. It goes by the name of 11fiftysix@night. 11fiftysix@night is the onsite Brasserie which operates every Friday night. Separated from the main bar area, this cosy dining room still enjoys the spectacular views of the golf course and has an exclusive feel about it, with dark tablecloths, candle light and views.
The first Friday of the month plays host to "Family Night" and on this night, children under 12 can eat for free (kids ham and pineapple pizza) with a paying adult. They also have those kids goodie bags which will keep them amused while you finish your meal and take in the view. On a regular Friday, there is well priced Children's Menu (12 & under) which comes with a drink.
Our meals were delicious and the service was great
On the night I was there, I chose the 300gr Pork Cutlet with sautéed potatoes and apple sauce ($26). It was delicious, well presented, well priced and I would definitely go back for it again. My mother had the 250gr Black Angus Sirloin with pink peppercorn butter and potato wedges ($28). She ordered it medium rare and it arrived medium rare. That is rare. It doesn't matter where I go, they always seem to overcook it. Well done RPGC. She said it was delicious and tender and that the wedges were nice and crunchy on the outside. My son enjoyed his kids pizza and the mains also arrived with complimentary warm bread rolls and a fresh salad. Drinks were from the bar at pub prices and all in all, it was a great meal.
Our meal came with complimentary bread rolls and a salad. The garlic bread was good too.
Having been to RPGC several times now, I am always surprised by how few people there are, but this in no way reflects on the quality of the food or service. I truly believe more locals should give this place a try on a Friday night as they will not be disappointed with the food, the service or the view. It would also be a great place to book for a function. You can check out the menu here or visit the RPGC on their facebook page for all the latest. Please note that the Brasserie only operates on Friday nights from 6.30pm and bookings are essential on (02) 9874 1204.
