It can be hard being a parent with young children. One of my favourite quotes about parenting comes from comedian Jerry Seinfeld. The father-of-three once described having toddlers as "having a blender, but you don't have a top for it." How true is that? As much as we might love our kids, good god all mighty, they're exhausting little ankle biters, aren't they?

100 Ways Your Two-Year-Old Can Hurt You by Chinese-American cartoonist Chen Weng really captures how rewarding, exhausting, and chaotic parenting two small children can be. 100 Ways Your Two-Year-Old Can Hurt You is 144 pages long and was published by Andrew McMeel publishing house on September 15 2020. It is the first collected edition of Weng's comic strip Messycow Comics, which presents the point of view of a mother trying to balance married life, a career, and raising two children at the same time.

I adored this book. The comic is based on the daily life of Weng, a thirtysomething mother, and her observations about modern-day parenting and life before and after children. The artwork is adorable and Weng's perspective on life is hilarious and very relatable. A couple of my favourite comics included Weng's thoughts on bedtime routines, how it feels to change a stinky nappy, places where her kids like to stick their hands, and the differences between parenting your first born and second born. If you have kids or spend a lot of time around kids, you will see yourself in this book.
