[b] 1. VEGAN COOKING CLASS - EASY CHEESE MAKING[/b]
This is on 8th February, 2018 at Roark and Co, 19 Blinco Street, Fremantle, at 6.30 pm.

It is commonly thought that vegan cooking is uninteresting or is just salads - this is a misconception and nothing could be further from the truth. Vegan cooking is full of flavour, taste, texture and experimentation - and it is better for you, as well as the environment. Vegan cooking can be a bit daunting till you get used to it and Roark have started a cooking school to help you with this. This event will teach you how to make Mozzarella, Herb and Garlic, Nacho Cheese.



Price is $75 per session and price includes demonstrations, recipe folder to take home and snacks. You can book in here .

[b]2. AN EXPLORATION OF PLANT-BASED APHRODISIACS[/b]
This will be held on 14th February from 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm, at
Dr. Clause, 25 Gladstone Street, Perth.

This is, of course, Valentine's Day, and you will have a seven-course degustation meal, exploring the sensual nature of plant-based aphrodisiacs. There will also be a bar with local organic and preservative free wines, GF beer, Kombucha elixirs and mocktails.



You can book here for this unusual event and cost is $128.

Tickets are food only and are limited to 40 seats.

[b]3. PICK YOUR OWN SUMMER FRUIT FESTIVAL[/b]
This will be on six times starting on Saturday 17th February at 8 pm; 18th, 24th and 25th February; and 3rd and 4th March, 2018. It will be held at S&R Orchard, 46 Halleendale Road, Walliston.



There will also be food vans, entertainment, free children's activities as well as the fruit picking. Entry is just $10 and free for under 12, and you will get the use of the orchard grounds, all you can eat fruit (directly from the trees) and a 1.5 kg take-home bag of fruit.

This is a cash only event and fruits for picking are nectarines and plums.

[b]4. COME ALONG, MIX AND MINGLE[/b]
This is a "Meet-up" event and is a casual getting to know each other, and sharing favourite vegan places, products, foods and recipes.

This will be held on Saturday, 17th February, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at TNT Residence, 283 The Esplanade, Mount Pleasant. You can put your name down at the MeetUp site.

[b]5. COMMUNITY VEGAN CURRY NIGHT[/b]
This will be held on Saturday 17th February 2018, at 6.30 pm at The Faraway Tree Cafe, Community Space, 7 Railway Parade, Glen Forrest.

This dinner Includes a buffet style 3-course vegan Indian feast plus non-alcoholic drink, and will be held under the fairy lights at the Faraway Tree!



Cost of this is $50 per head with a small percentage of each booking going to "Riding for the Disabled Assoc" in Sawyers Valley. To book for this, please message The Faraway Tree at their Facebook page and you will receive payment details.

[b]6. BLUE - THE DOCUMENTARY[/b]
This will be held on Thursday 22nd February 2018, at 6.30 pm at Event Cinemas, Innaloo.

This is about the devastation our footprint is having on our oceans and marine life. Things like plastic, such as plastic shopping bags, coffee cups straws and plastic cutlery are one of the biggest culprits choking our oceans and marine life.

Understanding the value of the ocean ecosystems is a crucial first step in its recovery, and you will learn all about these matters at this movie.



There will be a Q&A panel after the screening with 3-4 experts on the panel, including Jeff Hansen Director of Sea Shepherd. For bookings, go to this site . The cost is $20.

[b]7. GLUTEN FREE WRAPS AND FLATBREAD WORKSHOP[/b]
This will be on 27th February at 10.00 am and it will be held at Madhu Seth, 112 Waddell Road, Bicton.

Shop bought wraps are filled with yeast and preservatives and mostly fillers of stripped flours that aren't really good for your tummy. Here, you will learn how to make your own nutritious wraps and flatbread, with minimal ingredients like lentil flour, millet flour and buckwheat.

This will be a 2½ hr session and includes advice on which staples to buy which are nutritious, as everything gluten-free is not healthy. At the end of this class, there will be a sit-down brunch of what you have prepared!

[b]8. SALMING RUNNING WORKS TWILIGHT HALF MARATHON [/b]
This is on 24th February from 4 pm to 7.30 pm, and it will be at
Homestead Park, Glenbrook Rd, Thornlie.

This is Perth's first and only twilight half marathon, 10k and 6k events. Chris Lark, Running Works owner, wanted to create a race where spectators and supporters could cheer their friends and family members on in a twilight atmosphere.

There will be prizes for both events ,including an under 12 juniors and over 40 events, and all half marathon finishers will receive a medal.

[b]9. TWILIGHT MARKETS AT PERTH CITY FARM[/b]
These markets will be held on Wednesday 7th and 21st February 2018, at 4.30 pm at Perth City Farm, 1 City Farm Place, East Perth.

There will be food stalls with a large focus on organic, vegan and vegetarian food, and plenty of local retailers with beauty, household, and craft items.

Entry is by gold coin donation with proceeds going to Perth City Farm who are a not-for-profit, self-supporting, community organisation. This is a dog-friendly event, but dogs must be kept on leads.

[b]10. VEGAN TEE SHIRT DAY[/b]
This is a worldwide event and will be held on 3rd March at midnight until 11.59 pm.



VTSD is the first Saturday of the month, and it was started to raise vegan awareness by people wearing their animal rights tee shirts including hats, when they go out on this day.
